Chile experienced its lowest monthly copper production in more than a year, indicating a setback in the nation's recovery from its first annual decline in two decades. Mining data revealed a 6.7% decrease in copper output in April compared to March and a 1.5% drop from the same month last year. Challenges such as low ore quality and operational issues continue to impact mines, with Codelco's Radomiro Tomic mine undergoing a gradual restart following a fatal accident in March.
