The rising copper prices are likely to lead to an increase in the prices of electrical appliances, as most electrical devices currently use copper as a metal for conduction. The Industry Chair of the Electrical Appliance Association estimates that appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines that heavily rely on copper will see price hikes by the end of June or early July. The increase in copper prices is attributed to slow growth in copper mining supply, energy transformation, and a strong rebound in mainland China's economy, stimulating global consumption of manufactured goods.
