The Yunlin District Prosecutor's Office in Taiwan has been investigating a corruption case related to wind power and green energy, initially involving former Yunlin County Council Chairman Shen Zong-long and later uncovering potential bribery involving former Mailiao Township Mayor Tsai Chang-kun and the husband of the then Taixi Township Mayor Lin Fen-ying. The investigation revealed attempts to influence the government's approval processes with bribes totaling around 26 million Taiwanese dollars. Tsai Chang-kun and an accomplice were granted detention and denied visitation rights, while another suspect was released on bail. The prosecutors suspect Tsai Chang-kun delayed the wind power project in Mailiao Township to extort money from the developers. Search and arrest operations led to the discovery of cash in Tsai's safe, and further investigations are ongoing involving alleged extortion of a wind energy company.
