Costco is enhancing its membership verification process by installing card scanners at warehouse entrances to prevent unauthorized entry from nonmembers and to curb shared memberships. The new system requires all members to scan their physical or digital cards before entering, with guests needing to be accompanied by a valid member. Initial reports indicate that this change has already caused some delays at locations like Burbank.
