On June 28, 2024, at 10:33 PM, the Tamsui police discovered a large quantity of counterfeit goods, including luxury brands like LV and Gucci. A 25-year-old man in New Taipei City, surnamed Jiang, was caught selling fake international brand clothing, shoes, and hats at low prices to unknowing customers, with LV alone accounting for over 2 million in infringement value. After seizing nearly 400 counterfeit items following a tip-off, the police referred Jiang to the district prosecutor's office for violating the Trademark Act. Authorities caution the public to be cautious when buying brand-name products in traditional markets or night markets to avoid unknowingly purchasing counterfeit goods with potential legal consequences.
