Couple Buys Credit Card Information to Commit Fraud, Selling Stolen Goods for Profit

On June 13, 2024, the New Taipei City police broke a credit card fraud case, where a couple purchased credit card information online to commit over NT$500,000 in fraudulent purchases using fake accounts and then sold the goods for profit. Three suspects were arrested and charged. The police seized the couple's fake identification documents and various drugs as evidence. They remind the public to be cautious with personal and credit card information to prevent identity theft. If anyone suspects fraudulent activities, they are advised to contact the bank and report to the police immediately.
