Reported 8 months ago

On June 25, 2024, a court handed 'Evil Hook' a three-month sentence for using stolen investigative records as video material after a fan provided them to him. The court revealed that 'Evil Hook', whose real name is Chen Yuwei, had questioned the government's COVID-19 case numbers on Instagram, leading to legal trouble. The fan, surnamed Ke, stole the records and shared them with 'Evil Hook' for making a video, resulting in a criminal conviction and a two-year suspended sentence. The court found Ke guilty of concealing official documents and sentenced him to three months suspended for two years based on his remorse and the low risk of reoffending.
