In Taichung, a man called Ahua who is unable to work due to a stroke and previously divorced from his wife believed his two daughters should provide a monthly 12,000 yuan support fee until his death, but the court rejected his claim as his properties were deemed sufficient to cover expenses for several years and failed to provide evidence of being unable to sustain himself financially. The daughters mentioned that their father had left home when they were young, and they would rather provide the money to their mother. The ruling can still be appealed.
