According to a report from CTnews, rumors of a shortage of the COVID-19 antiviral oral medication 'Molnupiravir' have been refuted by the health authority, stating that there is currently sufficient stock of oral medications for COVID-19. However, specific conditions apply to the use of Molnupiravir, and medical institutions must apply to local health bureaus for distribution. With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the epidemic is said to be in an upsurge. The Drug Administration Deputy Director Chang Shu-hui highlighted the still adequate stock of medicines, with recent clinical evidence prompting recommendations for cautious use of Molnupiravir as it has limited effectiveness.
