According to Taiwan Television News, the sixth wave of COVID-19 is still spreading, and the Central Epidemic Command Center predicts that the peak will come in mid-July with a high probability of exceeding 100,000 confirmed cases weekly. Experts warn about the spread of the variant strain 'LB.1,' currently causing mass infections in U.S. nursing homes, and the shortage of the antiviral drug 'molnupiravir' in Taiwan. Health Minister Shih-Chung Tsai has proposed four major strategies in response to the rising COVID-19 cases, emphasizing the limited effectiveness of 'molnupiravir' and suggesting the priority use of other medications like 'balavir' and 'remdesivir' for COVID-19 treatment.
