Reported about 1 year ago

The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a significant rise in COVID-19 complications, with 623 new local confirmed cases and 38 deaths, nearly doubling from the previous week. The agency estimates the epidemic will peak around September and has not yet started to decline. Among severe cases, two infants under 1 year old developed pneumonia but have since recovered. Global COVID-19 figures show an upward trend with a predominant JN.1 virus strain, while related strains like KP.2 are also on the rise.
