Amidst the current resurgence of COVID-19 in Taiwan, experts suggest that the surge is largely influenced by the more contagious KP.2 variant. It is projected that the situation of immune debt will start to alleviate by early next year. The National Health Agency announced an increase in local cases, with a plan to distribute 3 million home rapid tests from July onwards. Additionally, concerns are raised regarding the potential threats posed by the KP.2 variant's higher transmission capabilities, especially for elderly individuals with comorbidities.
