COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits in High Demand, Pharmacist Predicts Possible Shortage in a Month

Reported 12 months ago

Following shortages of saline solution and other medical supplies, there could be a shortage of COVID-19 rapid test kits. The Department of Health is distributing 3 million free test kits to clinics, but once those are gone, the kits will return to the market. Due to high demand, it is anticipated that the kits will be sold out in about a month. With the COVID-19 situation escalating, it is estimated that there will be a peak in mid-July with up to 100,000 confirmed cases. Pharmacies are receiving inquiries daily about test kit availability and are urging the government to provide a list of clinics distributing free test kits to the public.
