COVID-19 Surge Again! 3 Million Rapid Antigen Tests Available for Free from July 1

Reported 7 months ago

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that starting in July, nearly 2,000 clinics across Taiwan will distribute 3 million home rapid antigen tests for free, with a total budget of approximately NT$4.2 million. The CDC indicated that with the recent rise in domestic COVID-19 cases, especially among the elderly, they aim to address the escalating epidemic by providing free tests to the public through these clinics. The distribution process, with a budget of NT$4.2 million, is expected to complete next week, starting from July 1. The tests have an expiration date until the end of this year or January next year, mainly targeting clinics for those experiencing respiratory symptoms. Additionally, the CDC reminds the public to get vaccinated as a crucial measure to reduce severe symptoms or fatalities and provides information regarding vaccine administration for high-risk groups on their official website.
