Recent increase of COVID-19 cases in Taiwan has been attributed to the emergence of the new variant strain KP.2, which is believed to be more infectious and capable of immune evasion. Ear, nose, and throat physician Zhang Hong expressed concerns over the rising number of COVID-19 patients with various symptoms, advising the public to remain vigilant and take preventive measures such as wearing masks and frequent handwashing to curb the spread of the virus.
