On June 28, 2024, Rakuten Monkeys selected infielder Zhang Zhaohong from Pingzhen High School in the first round of the 35th CPBL mid-season draft. Zhang expressed gratitude for being chosen and stated that he aims to improve his training and physical fitness, citing senior Li Xun Jie as his role model. Alongside Zhang, two other players from Pingzhen High School were also picked in the first round, with Zhang being the second player selected from the school. Zhang admired Li Xun Jie's work ethic and training methods, vowing to emulate him in his development as a player.
