Chang Chao-Yueh of the Fubon Guardians stated that as a teammate he believes Chang Yu-Cheng's hitting pressure on pitchers in the strike zone is like an 'enhanced version of the Magpie' and jokingly said if they face off in intra-team matches, he would 'just walk him with four balls'. With Chang Yu-Cheng returning to participate in the CPBL draft, Chao-Yueh believes his defense and hitting skills, as well as his power, bring a strong presence at the plate, describing him as even better than the Magpie.
