On July 1, 2024, Taiwanese baseball team Taiwan Steel Eagles faced the Fubon Guardians at Chengcing Lake Baseball Field. In the 7th inning, Wu Nian-ting came in as a pinch hitter, marking his debut in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Facing Fubon's ace Wang Yu-Yung, Wu Nian-ting hit a powerful line drive single on a 2-3 count, getting on base as a promising start. Despite the Eagles trailing 3-7 in the 6th inning, Wu Nian-ting's hit in the 7th sparked a comeback, leading to the Eagles' victory over the Guardians. Wu Nian-ting, a new arrival from Japan to Taiwan's CPBL, expressed nervousness before the game but enjoyed the experience on the field.
