After joining the Taiwan Steel Golden Eagles, Wu Nianting greeted head coach Hong Yizhong at the Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium. Wu was picked by the team on the 28th and signed the next day. Although the team initially planned for him to debut on July 1st, head coach Hong stated Wu won't start but might come in as a substitute. They met joyfully as player and coach with positions yet to be confirmed, and the team's swift progress raised attention. Wu had not played since May, and adjustments are expected before his debut.
