Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has announced it will cease new rail shipments from Canada and all U.S. shipments to Canada starting Tuesday, in anticipation of a potential work stoppage due to stalled negotiations with labor unions. Without a deal, CPKC and CN Rail plan to lock out workers on August 22, risking major disruptions in commodity transportation across North America, including coal, oil, and manufactured goods.
