The Supreme Prosecutor's Office launched the 'Jingping Special Case' to crack down on corruption in the renewable energy sector, with simultaneous searches led by Taipei and Yunlin prosecutors on June 25. The investigation involves the former assistant of Kuomintang legislator Liao Guodong, who is suspected of receiving millions in bribes, and former Yunlin Maoli Township chief Cai Changkun, who is accused of extorting renewable energy companies. The prosecutors seized evidence, interrogated suspects and witnesses, and emphasized the crackdown on corruption in the renewable energy industry.
