Crackdown on Noisy Modified Cars | Joint Inspection Discovers Fleeing Migrant Workers

Reported 8 months ago

In an effort to eliminate the annoyance caused by illegally modified cars with loud noises, the police station in Wuri District, Taiwan, collaborated with the Traffic Bureau, the Taichung District Supervisory Office, and the Taichung City Government Environmental Protection Bureau to conduct a joint inspection on suspiciously modified noisy cars on June 14th. Nine vehicles were stopped for inspection, with three found to be non-compliant and one having undergone a second modification. The non-compliant vehicles will be fined NT$15,000 each and will need to undergo inspection. During the operation, a female migrant worker attempted to flee upon seeing the police, but was immediately apprehended. In preparation for the upcoming summer vacation, the Wuri police station will intensify measures against dangerous driving behavior, especially focusing on roads where modified noisy cars are common, to ensure public safety and maintain a peaceful living environment. The station also reminded drivers to comply with traffic laws, avoid driving without a license, refrain from reckless driving or racing on the roads, and to never drink and drive, encouraging the use of public transportation, designated drivers, taxi services, or driver services for the safety of all road users.
