Shares of Critical Metals rose nearly 53% in premarket trading after a Reuters report indicated the U.S. government was considering purchasing a stake in the miner. This potential deal aims to secure the supply of rare earths and reduce reliance on China, particularly focusing on the Tanbreez project in Greenland. Critical Metals is also raising $35 million from an institutional investor for the project, which could strategically position the U.S. in the mining sector.
