Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) Deputy Minister Chiu Chui-Cheng recently emphasized that cross-strait health exchanges will continue and the investigation into the 0214 Kinmen incident, where a fast boat from the mainland capsized in our waters resulting in two deaths, will persist, urging mainland China to cooperate. Chiu also met with Kinmen County Deputy County Magistrate Li Wen-liang to discuss promoting cross-strait exchanges and seeking diverse open exchanges in Kinmen. Li mentioned the economic impact after the incident and urged MAC for more support, highlighting initiatives such as the Kinmen-Xiamen Bridge and power supply to accelerate development. Chiu hopes for further cross-strait cooperation after resolving ongoing cases, emphasizing the MAC's support for healthy cross-strait exchanges.
