According to FTNN news, there is a competition on both sides of the Taiwan Strait for the 'authenticity' of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Huangpu. It is reported that retired Navy Marine Corps generals, including Qi Linlian, former chairman of the Kuomintang's Huang Fu-Hsing Party Headquarters, have chosen to visit the old site of Huangpu in Guangzhou, China for the anniversary celebration. Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense stated that only a 'very few' retired generals choose to go to the mainland, with the majority expected to participate in the celebration in Fengshan, Taiwan. The Ministry emphasized that the Republic of China is the legitimate successor of Huangpu, and most retired generals are advised to avoid falling into the People's Republic of China's 'cognitive warfare' trap and actively participate in the event in Kaohsiung.
