The sunny weather in southern Taiwan led to a surge of tourists during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Originally, hotel occupancy rates in Kenting and Little Liuqiu were only at 70-80%, but last-minute changes in travel plans caused a massive influx of tourists, with 45,000 cars crowded in Kenting on the first day, and Little Liuqiu full of people enjoying the water, resulting in long queues for water activities and at least a half-hour wait for food. Even finding a parking space for motorcycles became a challenge, making visitors exclaim that it was really overcrowded.
