Cruise companies are providing summer discounts due to the increased number of ships in the Caribbean and Alaska.

Reported 4 months ago

Cruise operators like Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings are offering discounts on summer itineraries to fill empty cabins on older ships, as more vessels head to popular Caribbean and Alaskan destinations and avoid the Red Sea due to conflicts. Despite record demand and higher revenues, prices for summer cruises from the United States are cheaper than last year, with discounts of up to 21% on Caribbean itineraries. The companies are discounting older ships with newer ones entering the market, while newer ships like Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas maintain higher prices. Cruise fares are also falling in Alaska due to increased capacity, with discounts of up to 20% on Carnival's Alaskan cruises.
