Cyprus and Greece have recently seen progress in discussions about the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), a high-speed electric cable network intended to link Europe with the Middle East via the Mediterranean. This ambitious project, which is expected to cost around 2.4 billion euros, aims to create the longest and deepest high voltage direct current interconnector in the world.
