A Czech deal to construct at least two nuclear reactors totaling $18 billion has been approved after an appeals court overturned a previous ruling that halted the agreement with South Korea’s KHNP power utility. The ruling allows for the signing of the contract, originally set for May 7, following a legal dispute with France’s EDF. The new reactors will be built at the Dukovany power plant to help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, with operations expected to commence by 2036.
