During an episode of his podcast Full House Rewind, Dave Coulier shared that he chose the last name Gladstone for his character Joey after suggesting it during auditions with the show's creator. Coulier humorously explained that he thought the name was a stoner pun, 'like, I'm glad that I'm stoned.' Despite initial doubts from his costars, he went on to play the role of Joey in 'Full House' from 1987 to 1995 and in the reboot 'Fuller House.'
