In Pingtung City, sanitation workers are required to wear construction safety helmets while collecting garbage along the street, despite the increasing heat in southern Taiwan. Some workers complained about the heat and questioned why they couldn't wear lighter bicycle safety helmets instead. However, the sanitation team explained that construction helmets are mandated by occupational safety and health laws to avoid penalties. As temperatures rise above 35 degrees Celsius, the workers find it challenging, but safety remains a priority in implementing these measures.
