Reported 7 months ago

In the early hours of June 13, a serious fire in New Taipei City's Tucheng area resulted in 3 deaths, with suspicions of a lithium battery charging explosion. Reports of using water to extinguish lithium batteries causing explosions were denied by a survivor. Fire expert Lin Jinhong clarified on Facebook that spraying water after a lithium battery fire won't cause explosions; in fact, using a large amount of water is necessary to extinguish such fires safely. The fire claimed the lives of a family of four, with Lin also addressing issues related to the stairwell design and chimney effect in fires, emphasizing the importance of accurate information dissemination in fire incidents.
