Due to the recent high temperatures affecting people's willingness to donate blood, the Kaohsiung Blood Center in Southern Taiwan reported a sharp decrease of three to four percent in blood donors, especially with outdoor blood donation mobile units experiencing very low turnout. As of the morning of the 4th, the medical blood supply in the southern region had only about a four-day inventory left, urging the public to actively donate blood. The high temperatures have reduced people's outdoor activities, leading to a drastic impact on blood donation willingness and severe shortages in the medical blood supply in the southern region, including Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Taitung, and Penghu counties. The Kaohsiung Blood Center appealed for people to donate blood at nearby locations to support those in need of transfusions.
