The latest Giving USA report revealed a 2.1% drop in charitable donations in 2023 after adjusting for inflation. Individual giving decreased by 2.4%, with foundations, bequests, and corporations contributing a share of 19%, 8%, and 7% respectively to overall giving. Despite the decline, signs indicate that charitable giving may be stabilizing after tumultuous years impacted by events like the pandemic and inflation. While giving to some causes increased, such as health and environment, giving to individuals and religion saw declines when adjusted for inflation.
