Decline in China's Stock Fund Issuance as Bonds Gain Popularity

In December, Chinese investors showed reduced interest in stock-focused mutual funds as bonds regained favor amid a slowdown in the stock market rally. Although equity products continued to raise more money than fixed income products, bond funds experienced significant growth, marking their highest monthly amount for the year. The CSI 300 Index rose dramatically in September but has stalled since, while most equity issuances have been in the form of ETFs linked to the new A500 index.
