Analysts at Jefferies report a decrease in consumer excitement for Huawei's recently launched Mate 70 smartphone, which may negatively affect the company's overall shipments in 2024, potentially benefiting competitors like Apple. Following the Mate 70's launch, online discussions revealed much lower enthusiasm compared to earlier models, and Jefferies has adjusted its shipment forecast down from 48 million. While Huawei had hoped the Mate 70 would continue the momentum from the successful Mate 60, analysts predict sales may actually fall short, partly due to anticipated chip production challenges.
