A history teacher at Kaohsiung Girls' High School tested positive for COVID-19 as final exams approached, opting to teach from the hallway using a microphone and speaker to prevent possible transmission to students. While students remained in air-conditioned classrooms, the teacher stood in high temperatures to conduct 'distance' teaching. Despite the challenging circumstances, this display of dedication and care was appreciated by students. The teacher, having been diagnosed with a mild case and experiencing only a sore throat, continued teaching without taking leave to ensure exam preparations were completed. By adopting creative solutions for in-person and outdoor isolation classes, the teacher effectively engaged with students through non-verbal communication and maintained their focus on learning.
