Deer Gang Furniture Factory Fire: Tzu Chi Volunteers Provide Supplies and Care for Firefighters on Duty

On June 21, 2024, a furniture factory in Houpuli, Lugang Town caught fire in the afternoon, with flammable materials such as wood and furniture inside, causing a massive blaze that engulfed the 700-ping factory. Changhua County Fire Department dispatched 19 fire trucks to control the fire, with no casualties reported. Tzu Chi volunteers immediately provided sports drinks, mineral water, and bread to the firefighters on duty, expressing gratitude to their efforts. The factory's owner initially attempted to put out the fire but had to call for help when unsuccessful. Lugang Town Mayor praised Tzu Chi volunteers for their swift response in caring for the community and families affected, offering assistance for their livelihoods if needed and presenting blessings and safety decorations.
