A 33-year-old part-time tea farmer and deliveryman in Nantou tricked a woman in her 20s into sexual acts by pretending she was possessed by a demon, extorting around 150,000 NTD from her. The man claimed they needed to 'merge' to exorcise the demon and even demanded money for a fake exorcism ceremony involving paper-made air conditioners and a new iPhone. Despite being sentenced to a total of 17 months in prison for sexual assault and fraud, he received a 5-year probation due to a settlement with the victim, but has to pay back the money and perform community service.
