Delta Electronics has signed a contract with Guantian Steel to build an 80MW energy storage system for E-dReg services, expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025. The system will enhance the power grid's resilience and stability in southern Taiwan by providing energy transfer, composite dynamic regulation backup capacity (E-dReg), and frequency backup services. Delta will utilize its new generation of containerized lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) energy storage system, along with DeltaGrid® energy management system, leveraging AI technology for intelligent operations and maintenance. Guantian Steel's chairman, Wang Zhenze, expressed the company's commitment to green energy development and corporate social responsibility, having already installed 8.6MW of solar power and now aiming to improve power quality through energy storage systems. The project has received approval from relevant authorities and follows regulations closely, with strict safety measures in place such as firewalls and extensive distance from residential areas and facilities meeting regulations. Delta's expertise in energy storage hardware/software development and technical support, combined with Guantian Steel's focus on green energy, aims to enhance Taiwan's grid resilience and contribute to industrial and societal development.
