Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Wu Bing-rui withdrew his proposal to amend the Recall Law in Taiwan after allegations of manipulation by the Kuomintang (KMT). The KMT proposed to increase the recall threshold, while Wu suggested that recall petitioners must attach their ID with an 'issuance date.' Wu emphasized that anti-fraud measures should not be used as a political tool and temporarily withdrew his proposal to avoid being embroiled in KMT's political maneuvering. Wu urged the KMT to focus on genuine democracy rather than self-interest.
