Democratic Progressive Party's Central Committee Election: New Generation Choh Kuan-ting Runs for Executive Committee Member

Reported 10 months ago

Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Central Committee elections registration deadline has passed, with Minister of Transportation Lin Chia-lung stepping down as party spokesperson to focus on President Lai Ching-te's campaign and New Taipei City Councilor Choh Kuan-ting, highly valued by Lai Ching-te, registering to run for the Executive Committee. The upcoming full delegate meeting on July 21 will elect members for the Central Committee, shaping a new power structure post Lai becoming president. The party is preparing for a challenging election and internal disputes, including possible departure of Chen Ting-fei. However, there's a plan within the DPP to involve a new generation in party affairs, with Choh Kuan-ting being nominated for the Executive Committee and officially announcing his candidacy today with the hope of embracing a new era for the party.
