Following the passage of the parliamentary reform bill, discussions have been sparked as both the blue and green camps are planning to promote it in rural areas. Yunlin County Magistrate Pei-Shan Chang criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for changing its stance from advocating parliamentary reform while in the majority at the Legislative Yuan to now calling it an expansion of power, labeling it as a double standard. Chang emphasized the importance of stability in Taiwan and urged President Lai Ching-te to introduce more livelihood bills to show his commitment to people's welfare. She also addressed concerns about the Urban Planning Act and farmers' rights, emphasizing the need for the central government to educate the public about protecting their rights under the act.
