Emphasizing the importance of theatrical experiences, Villeneuve highlighted the need for movies that fully utilize the power of the theater, beyond just Dune 2, referencing Civil War as an example. Released on March 1, Dune: Part Two has grossed over $711 million globally, maintaining its position as the top-grossing film of 2024 ahead of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
