Deputy Mainland Affairs Council Minister Liang Wen-jie pointed out that not treating China as a country and ignoring it is 'absurd'. He emphasized that, other than the Constitution, under all other legal systems, our country treats the other party as a country whether it's referred to as 'both sides of the strait' or 'Republic of China and People's Republic of China', it essentially means two countries. The Mainland Affairs Office responded that the DPP blatantly promotes the 'two-state theory', and any actions challenging the One-China Principle and provoking the compatriots on both sides will be punished and surely fail.
