The small hydropower plant at Shuishe Creek in Taichung City was officially inaugurated on July 17, 2024. This plant is capable of producing around a thousand green energy certificates annually, promoting eco-sustainable development, energy conservation, and carbon reduction. It also serves as a good environmental education venue for the public. This project, initiated by the Taichung City government three years ago, leverages the creek's existing flow and 6-meter water level gap for power generation. This innovative hydropower plant, unlike conventional ones, is directly installed above the river without disrupting the local ecosystem, embodying a triple benefit model that contributes to green energy production, technological demands, and environmental preservation.
