A 44-year-old woman, Ms. Huang, was diagnosed with a 2.5 cm pancreatic cystic neoplasm with local inflammation and calcification. She underwent a laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy surgery at Cheng Kung University Hospital to remove the tumor while preserving the spleen. Pancreatic cystic neoplasms, which may be benign or malignant, are becoming a growing health concern in the Asia-Pacific region. Treatment options depend on the type, size, and location of the cyst, with regular monitoring through imaging recommended for small, asymptomatic cysts. Surgical removal is common for larger, symptomatic, or high-risk cysts.
