KMT Taipei City Councilor Li Ming-xian revealed that regarding the election for New Taipei City mayor, People First Party Legislator Huang Kuo-chang had inquired about the possibility of the KMT allowing it, clarifying later that it was Li who proposed the integration and not himself seeking 'concession'. DPP Legislator Lin Chun-xian sarcastically commented that if Huang wanted KMT support, the only way was to join directly, emphasizing that 'Professor Huang could only get KMT backing by joining the party.' Lin further stated that the KMT would not accept concessions, highlighting the intricate dynamics involved. Lin added, 'It's a big concession for the KMT to consider having Huang join the party.' Lin also cautioned Huang to seize the opportunity wisely, as failing to join might mean losing the chance. Lin's remarks hinted at Huang Kuo-chang's previous party-switching experiences and suggested that he might end up 'ruining three parties,' insinuating the complex political situation. Lin even teased about fulfilling the dream of many to 'switch off the KMT's lights.'
