Din Tai Fung Increases Prices by an Average of 6%, Food Inflation Continues to Rise

Reported about 1 year ago

In response to increasing operating costs, particularly in terms of labor, Din Tai Fung announced price increases for various menu items including xiaolongbao, shrimp and egg fried rice, side dishes, spicy wontons, and chicken soup, with an average increase of 6%. The adjustments, affecting 150 items and accounting for 80% of the menu, reflect the ongoing food inflation. This marks the second price adjustment within a year and a half, following two substantial employee salary raises, with prices rising by over 10% cumulative. In addition to salary adjustments, the company also offers regional bonuses for certain employees in the Greater Taipei and Hsinchu areas, aiming to attract and retain talent in a competitive market.
