Disappointment as Newly Built Songbai Fishing Port Market Opens With Sparse Vendors Selling Fish the Next Day

Reported about 1 year ago

The grand opening of the Songbai Fishing Port Fish Market in Taichung, built with an investment of NT$120 million from the city government and the Fisheries Agency, saw a lack of vendors operating stalls the day after, disappointing many visitors. Despite showcasing fresh 'just caught' seafood, the market had minimal vendors open for business on the second day, leading to dissatisfaction among eager customers. Local fishermen and vendors found the new market inconvenient and financially burdensome, preferring to directly sell at the port. Plans to enhance marketing efforts by introducing more activities are underway to address the situation.
